Heyyyy, thanks for stopping by.....today's look is a combination of traditional kente top paired with a blush skater skirt.
One memorable activity I enjoyed as a child was baking with my mother and I've recently rekindled that joy of creating sweet treats. This past weekend I created the first staple item which is the Cupcake Bouquet.

My family was blessed with a baby girl last year and she recently turned one year old! We are so grateful to have her and wanted to celebrate her first year. We really didn't want the celebration to be a full blown party so we settled on having an intimate gathering where she can cut a cake, take some pictures, and thank God for seeing us through this past year.
Dresses and skirts are my go-to outfits mainly because it's easy and flattering to my body type, however, dressing up with pants are necessary especially for the cold New York winters. For me, that usually means having to wear a blazer which I don't always feel like doing. That's why I'm in love with this look!
Valentine's Day is next week and it's always nice to show someone you care by spending the time to make them something. I always find that such gifts are meaningful because of the effort it takes. Buying a gift is acceptable as well and if you're still thinking of gift ideas take a look at my last post on gift guides for both him and her (here).
We're fresh in the new year and there's still time to make a new start. In my previous post I mentioned the different types of challenges that I came across and that the most meaningful one to me is the 21 day prayer and fasting because it provides nourishment to both the spiritual and physical body (read about it here). So far it's been a humbling and fulfilling experience and I know it will only get better.
This is the first post in the new year of 2017 and I couldn't be more grateful for such a blessing. So far this year there seems to be a trend of starting a challenge in the next 21 days. I've seen a 21 day detox, cleanse and weight loss plan; but the best challenge I saw was the 21 days of prayer and fasting.
