StyleNIque Presents: Not Too Sweet Vanilla Cupcakes- Sprinkle Confetti On It

















I’m I the only person that needs a mental break? The current climate can get a bit overwhelming for me especially when scrolling through social media, a place that used to be filled with bright, happy, pretty pictures have been replaced with a harsh reality. So what did I do, I decided to take a mental break from it all and do some baking. Baking is often a good distraction, and also brings me joy.


I had no idea how I wanted to decorate it so I simply piped buttercream on it but then I thought sprinkles make everything better, it not only adds a crunchy element it also adds color and brightness which always lightens my mood.

Cupcakes are cooled and ready to be decorated! I used Wilton 1M tip nozzle to pipe the buttercream but any tip or spreader can work since we're not piping a design. 



Coat the entire surface with buttercream it will serve as a binding agent to the sprinkles.


Dip the cupcake in sprinkles and rotate all the sides until the buttercream is fully covered.

Not too sweet Vanilla Cupcake Recipe 

Printable Recipe
Serves 12
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups  all-purpose or cake flour
1 tsp           Baking powder
1/4 tsp        Baking soda
1/2 cups     Granulated Sugar
1/2 cups     Unsalted Butter
2                 Eggs
1/2 cups     Milk
1tsp            Vanilla extract
1/2 cup       Plain Yogurt

Direction

Preheat oven to 350F.
Line cupcake tin with cupcake liner.
Fill cupcake liner half full with cake batter.
Bake for 15-20 min or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool and decorate.

American Buttercream

Printable Recipe
Serves 12 cupcakes /6-inch cake
Ingredients
1 Cup  Unsalted Butter
3 cups Confectioners sugar
2 tbsp  Milk
1 tsp    Vanilla extract
Add salt to adjust sweetness

Directions

Whisk butter until it lightens in color
Slowly add  confectioners sugar
Add salt according to taste
Add milk and vanilla extract based on desired consistency
